N. Tropy had to settle for second place on the original game, but with Penta’s gimmick losing its shine somewhat, he rightfully takes his place in first.
It was a very close run thing, with Nitrous Oxide becoming playable for the first time ever, generating tons of excitement. But the fact you can buy him just like that diminishes his appeal ever so slightly, and isn’t it just like N. Tropy to run you close then just nick it at the last second?
Why is his ghost so hard on Crash Cove? That’s supposed to be the easy level?!
Speaking of which, N. Tropy is only unlocked once you beat his time trial ghost on every track. They’re basically relic races with no time boxes, and you can see his ghost for the best path. Oh, and they’re much, much harder than the relics too.
N. Tropy, unlike Oxide, has to be earned. With online mode in Nitro Fueled, bragging about unlocking N. Tropy doesn’t have to stay in your living room; you can show off to the whole world. If you’ve unlocked N. Tropy, you deserve to.
