Cyberpunk 2077: 10 Harsh Gameplay Truths You Need To Know
7. The City Isn’t As Dynamic As Mentioned
Gamepressure’s Draug recently dug into the negative aspects of Cyberpunk’s gameplay, comparing it less than favourably to GTA, Borderlands and Deus Ex. Based on everything we’ve seen, some of these comparisons don’t exactly seem all that fair, however, it can’t hurt to temper our expectations slightly, so a dose of negativity may be healthy in the long run.
Regardless of whether you agree with these comparisons, there are at least some interesting perspectives.
First up is GTA V, which of the three feels the least thematically like Cyberpunk 2077. As one of the largest living, breathing worlds ever created though, it does mark a benchmark.
It feels like Los Santos reveals a fairly sizeable flaw in Cyberpunk’s Night City, all things considered: You can’t gun down citizens with impunity in Cyberpunk, but considering the plethora of enemies, the inability to commit cold-blooded murder hardly seems like a deal breaker.
As well as this though, NPCs scarcely react to you at all. Even if you bump into them, they’ll just keep on trucking. After not just GTA but also Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2 winning praise for how alive the setting felt, it’ll be unfortunate if Cyberpunk falls short.
