Cyberpunk 2077: 10 Ways It Will Change RPGs Forever
6. An Intelligent Weapons Systems
A player more geared towards fighting, on the other hand, will not just have a number of damage dealing augmentations to choose from, but a great deal of weaponry which Cyberpunk has categorised in an innovative way.
The fact that certain weapons will fit your build while others might be useless means the use and selection of weaponry can be quite tactical.
More specifically, weapons are split into the categories of melee, smart, power, and tech; each with their own pros and cons. Where ‘body’ builds might gravitate toward power weapons that are short range but incredibly powerful, ‘cool’ builds might do more with tech weapons that strike hard from a distance.
‘Reflex’ builds, on the other hand, might prefer to take on a selection of smart weapons which allow them to dexterously leap behind cover and fire heat seeking rounds that follow their targets.
And as far as these augmentations go, I think I speak for most fanboys when I say we're looking forward to leaving the concept of droppable melee weapons behind. Who needs a baseball bat when you can slice enemies in half with a set of protruding mantis blades, after all?
