Cyberpunk 2077 - 8 Major Worries We Can't Shake

3. Pointless Visual Customisation

Another spin-off from no third-person gameplay and the aforementioned character building stuff, is that all the aesthetic customisation you'll want to indulge in - from neon jacket decals to ramming technology straight into your eye-holes - is barely going to be seen.

Honestly, can you think of any RPG or game with a heavy amount of customisation, that then resigns you to first-person?

Yes, you can view your character in an inventory screen, but like designing your face in The Outer Worlds, it only highlights how pointless all this visual tinkering has been overall.

The shift to FP stands out as a bugbear based on CDPR's prior work, but combined with stealth mechanics, open-ended combat scenarios and - most importantly - detailed visual customisation and clothing, it could result in solid individual elements not sitting well together.

Why would we spend time designing a character; augmenting them, purchasing equipment and items, only to barely see any of it?
