2. Dying In Darkroot Garden
Darkroot Garden is the place where newbies go to die. Die. And die again. From stepping into this vast forest for the first time, its immediately apparent that Darkroot Garden is an area so overwhelmingly deadly that it would be complete insanity to stick around. Not only is the area jam-packed with incredibly deadly AI (including almost invisible assassins whom you cannot even lock onto!), but its also home to one of the most frustratingly unfair covenants the game has to offer, the Forest Hunters. Any player dastardly enough to enter this Mafia-esque covenant would be randomly summoned into the world of a trespasser where they would help the already difficult AI dispatch of the unfortunate venturer. Being on the receiving end of a Darkroot Garden invasion, which can only be described as an inevitable r*ping, was an eye-opener for many newbies of the extremities of Dark Souls PvP. While the vast majority of Darkroot victims were forever put off of PvP, many saw the situation for what it truly was a challenge to be overcome with hard work and dedication. Darkroot Garden remains as one of the top spots for PvP play even to this day, especially for hardcore fans. Just don't go there unprepared or you may find yourself with one less working game controller.
