Dark Souls 2: The 10 Most Ridiculous Ways We All Died

6. The Abysswalker I Am Not

You've drained the New Londo ruins, delved into the darkness, defeated ghosts, demons and lord-knows what else, and finally traversed the fog to enter the boss area. You'll find yourself at this point at the top of a large winding staircase, leading ever downward and finally ending at a completely sheer drop. At this point you're probably thinking that you probably shouldn't jump off that cliff. Thing is, you're meant to! Of course, how couldn't we see that before? So go ahead, take a dive. You'll be fine, honestly. What? You've just splatted on the ground and have died? Yep, that happened to me too! Gotcha! See to enter the boss area in New Londo Ruins, one must be in possession of Covenant of Atorias ring that's given to you after beating Great Grey Wolf Sif. The ring must be worn, and only then will you not die when dropping into this area. As with practically everything else in Dark Souls, no indication is given whatsoever that this is the case and you're left to figure it out on your own. Repeated attempts at dropping, complete with silly rolls and jumps/stripping off all your armour won't work either.
