Dark Souls 3: 9 New Features You Need To Know About

4. Backstab Animations Return

There was something so satisfying about nailing a backstab in a Souls game - the requisite damage boost you did being accompanied by a flurry of strikes that just embodied the "F*&$ YOU!" nature of tussling for position with a particular squirrelly enemy. For Bloodborne they were removed - potentially due to too many players simply endlessly spinning around enemies and spamming the attack to win - but as a staple of the series it's great to have them back. Here's to multiple randomly-triggering animations for each weapon just for kicks too, as although you could never get tired of nailing the timing on one - it'd be great so see some more variety across what'll be another lengthy campaign.
