Dark Souls 3: 9 New Features You Need To Know About

3. Character Speed Is A Levelled Stat

Going back to any of the Souls games after playing Bloodborne, you'll immediately notice just how sluggish or purposeful the former feels, versus the occasionally frantic stick 'n move nature of the latter. It's something that could have influenced the future of the series if the team wanted to up the ante in every fight, but instead they've chosen to make the very nature of your character's speed one you'll pump points into across the game. Armour effects and encumbrance are still going to affect this somewhat, but it's great to hear alongside taking note of whether you're speccing towards a tank or more dextrous build, you can eventually get a character that isn't so literally weighed down by the 'better' items in the game.
