Dark Souls 3: Ranking Every Boss From Worst To Best

1. Slave Knight Gael

Dark Souls 3
FromSoftware

Gael is quite possibly the closest From Software have ever gotten to capturing the majesty of fighting Artorias in the first game.

Not only is Gael an impossibly challenging boss, but he is steeped in back story that rivals even the most lore-based encounters. Beyond that, the arena in which you fight him is gorgeous, he has several unique and dynamic phases and most importantly, he's fun to fight.

Tackling Gael feels like an epic duel where the boss is designed to actually try and kill you, instead of leaving himself open for attacks. It feels personal, fair and epic - three qualities that haven't been replicated since the first game. And that's why he's the best.
