Days Gone: 10 Gameplay Details You Need To Know

8. The Apocalypse Didn’t Wipe Out All The Wildlife

Though Bend studios have been mum up to this point as to the cause of the virus outbreak, one thing for certain is it hasn’t entirely wiped out the animal population. A variety of animals can be spotted in the pre-release footage including birds, bears, wolves, and deer; some of which have been infected with the same virus affecting humanity while others remain in their pre-apocalyptic state.

The extent of animal interaction, and consequences of said interactions, hasn’t yet been fully explained, but developers have mentioned you will be able to use animals to assist you in certain cases. Just hypothesizing here but releasing a Rager Bear (shown above) into a enemy encampment might be a great way to distract your adversaries and allow you to pass without notice.

Seeing the environments teeming with life (infected or otherwise) looks good so far, and If our bike riding protagonist is able to hunt and kill squirrels with a crossbow then Bend Studios might just want to go ahead and re-brand the game with the Walking Dead liscense.
