Days Gone: 13 Essential Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

2. Quicksave Before Taking On Freakers

Sony

Sony Bend absolutely wanted to make the bike a part of you in Days Gone, and as a result there's a whole host of features that aren't accessible if you aren't close to it. You can't fast travel if it's too far away and, more importantly, you can't quicksave, which becomes absolutely essential when you spend long stretches out in the world.

It might sound obvious, but the checkpoint system in Days Gone ranges from extremely generous to surprisingly spotty, and you might find yourself biting off more than you can chew, expecting to jump back into the fray with a quick restart but actually end up respawning miles away with your progress lost.

Especially if you're taking on something out in the world that you're not guaranteed to survive - like a Freaker nest for instance - then a quicksave is essential, and it thankfully only takes a quick button press when you're next to your bike.
