Days Gone: 13 Essential Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
1. Spend Credits On Bike Upgrades First
Weirdly, considering that Days Gone's main selling point is its motorcycle, it actually makes a terrible first impression. The game opens on a bike chase, and everything about it feels... wrong. The handling takes some getting used to, the sluggishness can come across as the mechanics themselves being unrefined, and a high-speed chase isn't the right context to ease players into how these vehicles actually work.
It doesn't improve too much when you get your hands on your first proper bike either, as it's purposefully underpowered and fragile in order to make the upgrades seem worth it. This element of the game does get fun the more time you put into it though, and part of getting over that initial hurdle is pumping as many resources into the bike as possible.
Everything you do in the early game - such as sending civilians to Copeland's as mentioned - will work to make your bike that bit better. If you can't or don't want to pimp it out as much as possible, then at the very least, an improved tank is essential, as is upping the durability so the engine doesn't explode when you accidentally graze a tree.
