Dead Rising 3 Review: 7 Reasons It's The First Must Own Next Generation Title

4. An Enjoyable Story Full Of Twists

Deadrising3 1 Initially upon starting Dead Rising 3 and playing a few hours, I wasn€™t feeling it. The new protagonist- Nick Ramos- lacked a sense of humor and played everything straight, which is a far cry from characters like Frank West and Chuck Greene. Furthermore, he constantly screams €œoh s**€ as I€™m running away from zombies; I just slaughtered several hundred so why the hell is he panicking in fear? An ideal protagonist for Dead Rising should be someone less self-aware that goes with the flow, regardless of how harrowing a situation is. Even after completing the game my thoughts haven€™t entirely changed, but the interactions between him and his survivor companions that are cooperatively trying to put together a plane before the military bombs the city of Los Perdidos, is a mysterious one filled with twists and turns. The writers have successfully expanded the canon story and lore in ways that I didn€™t expect for a single second. It€™s a slow burn that builds off its initial premise and suspense, until it begins cranking out crazy twists at lightning speeds. By the end, you€™re left cheering with a smile on your face as the credits roll.
