Dead Space 3: 10 Reasons It Sucks

2. Squad-Based Shooting?

Granted, this one's a tad speculative, but a worrying sign nonetheless. At the end of the Dead Space 3 demo, as you're fighting against a giant Necromorph-like creature, some other soldiers show up to help take the beast down - are we to expect that this is reflective of the game as a whole? The thrill of the previous games was that, for the large part, you were isolated and on your own, having to contend with these beasts without any outside help. Now, you've not only got a co-op buddy (or in the case of the single-player, an NPC who appears on occasion), but you also now appear to have some generic squadmates. Does this mean we should expect more Call of Duty-esque shootout scenarios? We can't be sure, but it's not a good sign; again, if this is true, it's going to make us feel far too safe in a game that should be trying to do exactly the opposite.
