Death Stranding: 10 CONFIRMED Story & Gameplay Details You Need To Know

4. Customisation Plays A Role

Having customisation options may not sound like a big surprise for a triple-A game, but it seems like Death Stranding will make it an important feature.

In all of the gameplay footage that we've seen, Sam is shown wearing different outfits whilst traversing different areas. He's seen wearing much heavier equipment in worse weather and when climbing mountains, and lighter outfits during the sun.

Sam's costume also seems to adapt to the environment around him, although this could be influenced by the player's choices. This can be seen when he falls in water and automatically has a buoyancy device activated.

One of the bigger examples customisation is seen with Sam wearing protective clothing during timefall, which seems like it completely protects him against it. Presumably this will play a role during gameplay, with the player being in danger of aging if they're not protected.

Of course, it's entirely possible that all of this is just cosmetic, but it really doesn't seem like Kojima for that to be the case.
