Death Stranding: 6 Reasons It Could Be FANTASTIC (And 5 It Could Be A Disaster)
9. Wacky Sense Of Humour
Kojima's utterly bizarre sense of humour has always been a trademark of his work, but in Death Stranding, it appears the game director has taken his wacky comedy to a whole new level. Creating an entire hub dedicated to small gags and jokes, this is seemingly the most unchained version of Kojima's humour we've ever seen, a solid twenty-five minutes of his recent gameplay demo covering the game's comedic elements.
We saw Sam take selfies of himself blowing raspberries in the mirror, crack open some beers and spray them like Stone Cold Steve Austin and even violently punch the camera if the player spends too long staring at his crotch. It all reeks of pure Kojima nonsense, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
For a director who revels in his odd sense of humour, it's clear what we're getting is an authentic Hideo Kojima experience, complete with his charming arsenal of quirks and eccentricities. There's no denying that its a major part of what makes him such an endearing creative mind, and knowing that we'll get to experience more of the unorthodox tonal craziness that made his other games so unique is incredibly exciting.
