Death Stranding Trailer Breakdown: 10 Things You Need To See

6. The Set Up

The new trailer for Death Stranding opens in a manner very similar to the first teaser. We see an establishing shot of crabs in the sand, with strands flowing from them. The images of sea life in this, and the original trailer, share striking visual similarities with Jinji Ito's sci-fi horror manga 'Gyo' which features an invasion of technobiologically reanimated sea creatures. This theory is backed up by the fact that Ito is said to have worked alongside Kojima and Del Toro on elements of the cancelled Silent Hills project.

Biotechnology seems to be hinted at heavily throughout the rest of the trailer too.
