6. Lack Of Proximity Chat
Much like the poorly-implemented fireteam matchmaking, a major issue in Destiny is the lack of proximity voice chat. If I run past someone in battle, wouldn't it be really handy if I could just shout to them over my microphone, and say, "Hey man, wanna team up?", and if they say yes, you can invite them to join the fireteam without worrying about them just running off or not knowing who you are? It seems so simple and vital for an instance-based game like this, and yet, Bungie are making communication between strangers extremely difficult for some reason. It'd also be cool if we could chat in the Tower hub area, as this would make forming fireteams a lot easier. After all, who hasn't played an MMO that functions on the basis of someone in a town square requesting help in the chat window? It's a simple, classic mechanic that works perfectly, and though typing on a console isn't advisable, in an age where every gamer has a microphone, why not make the most of it, especially in a game claiming to be so socially driven?
