Destiny 2: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

2. A Ton Of Content That's Easy To Jump Into (Dynamic Player Events)

Destiny has a bit of a problem with motivation once you get past the whole "Go avenge the fallen city" setup, though I'll get to that in time.

What it knocks out of the park is cribbing just enough of an Ubisoft-like mentality when it comes to peppering an overworld map with icons and activities to partake in, ensuring you've always got something to do.

Ping-ponging between cave-plundering and exploration, side-quests and loot-hunts creates one hell of an addictive pull. You're always unlocking new equipment, always nabbing rarer Engrams and always nailing headshots or felling groups of foes in quick succession.

Pick a direction, wander and you'll find something worthwhile. Partake in an Adventure or plunder a Lost Sector cave for guaranteed loot, or back out and hop into the Crucible for some meticulously perfected PVP.

Then you have the Public Events, which appear on the map as countdowns, declaring where Guardians should group up if they want to embark on a multiplayer mission together. These are seamless, and are one of the biggest improvements over the original, getting various players together fast and encouraging them to buddy up for future missions.
