5. The Cabal Is The Big Bad

If you watched the reveal trailer of Destiny 2 then you know one thing; the Cabal are not happy. They've attacked the Tower and have crippled the Traveler. They have the guardians on their heels and they seem to be a much bigger threat this time around.

It should come as no surprise that the Cabal will be the featured faction in Destiny 2. Over the course of the first game, the Cabal were the least featured and least developed. They never got a DLC expansion dedicated to them like the other enemies, and are the only one to not be featured in a raid.

However, if you had been paying attention during the course of The Taken King DLC, you would have seen this invasion coming. At the end of one mission, your Ghost discovers a "detailed distress signal" that's aimed right for the head of the Cabal. Fast-forward to Destiny 2 and the Last City is being attacked by the Red Legion, a powerful force in the Cabal empire.

Not much is known yet about the Red Legion, but it is worth noting that they have some new members in their ranks as well as new weapons. You'll be able to spot this group of Cabal are rocking new shields and even have some sort of hound along side them in the fight. It's not known what will happen with the other enemy factions from Destiny, but it's hard to imagine they will sit to the side and let the Cabal have all the fun.
