Destiny 2 Beta: 7 Ups & 2 Downs

2. New Abilities Make Classes Feel Far More Distinct

Destiny 2
Bungie

Beforehand, aside from your melee animation, avatar aesthetic and Super, all three classes kiiiiinda blended into one. Now though, you've now got an additional specific class ability, pulled off by holding circle.

This almost feels like a tradeoff against the slower Super Meter burn overall, as these third specials are incredibly useful and are available frequently - not to mentiongame-changing when combined. Titans can put down energy walls for makeshift defence, Warlocks can lay down health or attack-boosting orb shields, and Hunters get a 'Marksman's Dodge' - the ability to literally evade any attack if timed correctly.

As such, Warlocks now feel like they benefit a more defined support role, where Hunters are now more 'tricksy' or 'on the go' characters, best played by warping directly through other skirmishes before laying down specific shots, staying on the move at all times.

Combined, you've got one hell of a team for both missions, Strikes (raids) and online.
