Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal: 10 Things We Learned

If there's one trend that the gameplay reveal showed, it's that Bungie really couldn't let a lot of things go as they headed into Destiny 2. The same goes with subclasses. Yes, there's one new subclass for each class, but it's replacing one of the three older ones with the other two returning.

Hunters for instance are having their Blade Dancer subclass replaced with Arcstrider. It's a new arc-based subclass where the Hunter pretty much runs around like a lightening-infused Robin while beating enemies down with a staff. Gunslinger and Nightstalker will both be returning, however with some tweaks. For example, golden gun now has six shots as opposed to three, and has an evade ability like the Nightstalker class did.

For Warlocks, Dawnblade will be replacing Sunsinger with Voidwalker and Stormcaller returning. Dawnblade is a solar-based subclass that'll see warlocks throwing a flame infused sword much like the Titan's solar hammer class.

Speaking of Titans, Sentinel will be replacing Defender with Sunbreaker and Striker returning. Sentinel will still be a void based class with aspects of defense as Titan's will basically turn into void Captain America, shield and all.

Alongside these new subclasses is a 'class ability', which will be available no matter the subclass. For Hunters it's the evade, Warlocks have the ability to throw down an AoE buff and Titans can throw down a barrier for defence.
