7. The User Interface Is Totally Streamlined

"Public Events aren’t just more interesting in Destiny 2. The game’s new speed-focused interface makes it much easier to do them. There’s now an in-game map — another baffling omission from Destiny — and it highlights Public Events in real time, so you’ll know exactly where and when to expect them...It’s also easier to get around using the map, thanks to landing zones for fast travel and a waypoint system that lets you mark locations and activities...These kinds of quality-of-life improvements make a huge difference in the experience of playing Destiny. They eliminate much of the busy work that was inherent to the original game." - Polygon
"During my attempts to unlock a new Strike I was reminded of one of the best features Destiny 2 has to offer: a fast way to queue up a new event. At any time you can hit the PS4 touchpad or Xbox One view button and go directly from a Strike to PVP, back into a new Strike queue, or to one of the destinations. It gives you so much more freedom to go where you want to go at any time instead of waiting for a countdown or jumping back to orbit first like in the original." - IGN
"It’s the little things too. The addition of the Destination Map means no more losing time hovering in space. You’re always doing something...Destiny 2 is constantly moving, focusing on all the ways you want to keep playing and making it easier than ever. Even little tweaks like your best armour not actually having to be on you to make sure you’re getting higher drops. The niggles you had, the places you had to stop, these are gone, instead replaced with only the desire to keep on Destiny-ing. And that’s, quite frankly, better than ever." - Gamesradar

A terrible user interface can sink even the greatest game, and Destiny was a huge victim of this, with its obtrusive, often illogical menu system making navigation a chore and genuine pain at times.

Destiny 2's ease-of-use seems much more apparent throughout, with menus designed more for speedy navigation than slick style, intent on keeping you in the game rather than poring over menu screens.

If you're the kind of Destiny player who wants to avoid the grind by jumping from one event to the next and constantly changing things up, the new UI and generally more intuitive nature of play is a major plus this time around.
