Destiny 3: 8 Reasons It Should Be Single Player

5. There Would Be Greater Opportunity For Lore Exploration

Arguably, Destiny has some of the most interesting lore in all of gaming - the stories behind the Darkness, Traveller and other Guardians making for some very interesting reads.

So far, they haven't really been more than just that: reads. The games have not really had the opportunity to allow players to experience the lore firsthand, instead only providing hints in the dialogue and small text entries that are easy to miss.

A single player title would give Bungie the space to craft numerous side quests that would allow for players to dive into the vast and fascinating lore of the series, in the place of simply holding the left trigger to make available a couple paragraphs of information to read.

Putting this lore exploration into playable content would also expose it to those who otherwise wouldn't have delved into it to its brilliance - ensuring that the many hours spent weaving all of those threads together were a worthwhile investment.
