Devil May Cry: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

4. It's Insane

The best aspect of the original games is that, frankly, they're just downright insane, taking a pulpy, comic book-esque narrative and then turning it into something hyper-kinetic, frenzied, ultra-violent, and quite unlike anything else we have ever seen. What's great is the small additions that have been afforded to Dante just to make things that little bit crazier; not only does the undulating, morphing world around you create an atmosphere of unease, but Dante being able to turn into both Demon and Angel form allows him to select a number of new weapons, with each reflecting the mode selected. For example, Demon weapons are extremely powerful, but the trade-off is that they are rather slow, whereas Angel weapons are much more rapid for keeping a crowd at bay, but their power isn't so strong. This allows for some pretty insane match-ups, particularly when you start getting the hang of combos...
