Combos have always been a strong asset of the Devil May Cry series, transforming what could have simply been another rote hack 'n slash fest into something that requires a little strategy, thought and skill, as well as a wealth of good luck. Ninja Theory have taken things to the next level here by emphasising the importance of combos for surviving the day; strongers players will find themselves able to chain together every single weapon in the game into one seamless, unbelievably brutal attack, which of course will contribute towards a killer S rank. There's a fun, addictive quality to seeing how long you can make a combo continue on for, and if there's enough enemies, it can continue on indefinitely if you're skilled enough!
