Devil May Cry: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

2. Improved Ranking System

Alongside combos, one of the more enticing aspects of the Devil May Cry games to date has been the stupidly addictive points system, which tracks your progress and contributes to your eventual mission rank. In the previous games, it was a tad frustrating that so much of this ranking information was withheld from the player, meaning we had no idea how well we were doing until we reached the rank screen at the end of a mission. It often proved frustrating as it meant that had we known how we were doing mid-mission, we might have restarted and tried harder from the beginning. In this new game, however, there's a continual display of the points racked up on-screen, so it's far easier to see how you're doing (or not doing), and how that dreaded S rank is coming along. It just goes to show that so often it's the small things that matter.
