Dishonored: 10 Best Villains Of The Series

3. Daud

Dishonored Brigmore Witches Delilah and Daud

This character is one of the deepest and most morally changeable individuals in the entire Dishonored canon. His antagonistic role depends on Corvo's choices in-game, although most of the time, the legendary assassin can be considered more of an antihero.

One of the only people in existence to receive the Mark of the Outsider, Daud and his legion of followers, the Whalers, were hired by Spymaster Hiram Burrows to assassinate Empress Jessamine Kaldwin, setting in motion the events of the whole series. But when he saw the havoc that her death brought upon the city thereafter, Daud became consumed by remorse.

The DLC expansions, The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches, explore his path to redemption, fighting to save Emily Kaldwin from being used as a puppet by Delilah and her coven. At the end, parallel to the events of the main game, Daud is bested by Corvo, and pleads for his life, expressing his regret over killing the Empress and promising to disappear for good.

Against all odds, Corvo chooses to spare his life, and, leaving Dunwall, the ageing Daud sets out on one final mission: to kill the Outsider.
