Doctor Who: 10 Things The 2021 Video Game NEEDS To Be Great

1. A Fully-Explorable TARDIS

Expanding upon that idea of the TARDIS being a hub location for selecting levels, why not go further and let players have a nosy around the place? Not just in the main console room, mind you - but in the side rooms and corridors too.

We haven't explored the Doctor's beloved time machine all that much in the show, aside from the odd episode that shows us a new section. But in theory, the TARDIS could go on forever: infinite rooms, infinite twisting corridors, infinite possibilities.

This means that Maze Theory could have a lot of fun with this idea. Let us go for a splash in the famous TARDIS swimming pool, or have a peek in the library. Does the TARDIS have a dungeon, or a space gym? Show us them! Let us go in the companions' bedrooms (or the Doctor's), or where everybody hangs out in-between adventures.

We don't expect Maze Theory to build a limitless TARDIS, but how hard could it be to add a dozen unique side rooms, perhaps places that the show hasn't taken us yet? Walking around the main console room would be nice, but getting to go even further? That would be a real treat.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
