DOOM Eternal: Ranking EVERY Weapon From Worst To Best

3. Chaingun

Making its first appearance in the original Doom in 1993, this whirling testament to demonic destruction has been a fan favourite ever since.

Its ammo size: massive. Its fire rate: rapid. Its rotisserie chicken cooking power: unrivalled. There's just something visceral about deploying an entire warehouse worth of bullets into a room full of hapless monstrosities in mere seconds. Feeling the controller rumble along with the deafening spin of the Chaingun's massive barrel, you'll have to stop yourself from yelling adrenaline fuelled obscenities at your television.

Due to acquiring the Chaingun in the later stages of the game, even its capacity to burn through ammo shouldn't be a problem thanks to the ammo upgrades you'll have by then. Weird, it's like these game developers know what they're doing.

And if you think the Chaingun doesn't quite shoot enough for your liking, (and why wouldn't you? This is Doom, after all) there's even a mod to double the amount of barrels, meaning you can fire twice as fast at the cost of a small amount of mobility. It also means you can cook twice the amount of chicken. Rip and Tear... into some delicious poultry.
