Dota 2: 10 Heroes That Need A Rework

2. Doombringer

This hero possesses what is quite possible the most powerful single-target skill in the entire game: his Ultimate Ability, Doom. Not only do victims take a lot of damage per second, but they are also completely silenced, incapable of using both spells (active and passive) and items. Furthermore, Doom will also pierce magic immunity, rendering items like Black King Bar useless against it. If Doom gets Aghanim€™s Scepter, then the added effects become staggeringly overpowered. The blue scepter adds one second to Doom€™s duration, and increases damage per second from 70 to 110. In other words, overall damage from this one ability alone at maximum level goes from 910 to 1540. Once someone is afflicted with this ability, what really is there for them to do but run? They can€™t protect themselves, and are completely vulnerable to Doom€™s other abilities and those of his allies. The only way one can survive this ability is to run back to the fountain, or to wait it out. Either way, this ability is overpowered for very obvious reasons. This is one ability that truly required a re-work. Once that ability is cast, any one-on-one fight becomes decidedly one-sided, as the Doomed victim can only attack or run. One possible re-work would be to allow for some items to be still usable while Doomed. Or, a simpler solution would be to reduce the damage taken by afflicted Heroes. Another possibility would be to only silence active spells, while keeping passive abilities in effect while Doomed. Silencing every ability that a Hero possesses while damaging them significantly is a powerful ability; which is why this overpowered skill needs to be re-worked. After all, it€™s not like Doom has much trouble getting strong without using his Ultimate.
