Dragon Age 4: 11 Things We Learned From The Behind The Scenes Gamescom Feature
1. The Story's Direction
Patrick Weekes, head writer, talked about how the story is now focusing on the "powerless" in the Dragon Age world. In Tevinter Nights, the protagonists have been Lords of Fortune - thieves, treasure hunters, and mercenaries of low status; Wardens (who often come from low backgrounds); and Antivan Crows, who often find their assassin's lives preferable to what they had before.
While a lot of the news has fans buzzing with theories, in a recent tweet, they also emphasised that concept art is meant to capture the mood of a moment, but not specific details. So despite all speculation, people shouldn't get caught up in the specifics, as these can change between now and release (so here's hoping for a dwarf companion even if none of the "hero shot" lineup appear to be dwarves).
It's clear that while The Inquisition, The Venatori, The Qun, and The Dread Wolf's Forces will be embroiled in some major battles, the players get to experience it from the perspective of someone caught up in all the violence - an underdog who may just help save the world. An exciting direction for one of BioWare's greatest franchises.
