Combat should be one of the main focuses of any Dragon Ball Z game and even though it can be amazing to look at, the combat here feels shallow. A total overhaul may not happen, but the developers need to add more depth to the combat system.

Understandably, they want to keep the title accessible to all ages, so a deep fighting system like the one in Dragon Ball FighterZ may be too complicated.

However, something similar to Xenoverse’s system would work and the multiple difficulty levels that were suggested earlier would still allow player accessibility.

If CyberConnect2 can develop a system closer to that one, players would still able to assign their special attacks to the face buttons, but there are also would be light/heavy attacks, throws and better control of transformation abilities.

New super moves, combos and transformations would also help to keep the fighting fresh.

The sense of accomplishment in winning an intense battle is amazing, but unfortunately, those moments are few and far between with so few challenging fights. There’s no point in re-creating all of these epic battles in such detail just to have players lazily button mash their way through the story.
