Dungeons And Dragons: 10 Abysmal Magical Items

7. Cap Of Water Breathing

The Cap of Water Breathing isn't particularly exciting, but that isn't anything to hold against it. After all, it's on the lower end of magical items, carrying only an uncommon level of rarity, it's more likely to be discovered as opposed to some of the other options on this list.

This magical item is pretty self-explanitory: the Cap of Water allows you to, surprise surprise, breathe under water, creating a bubble of air separating your head from the body of water around you. So far so good right?

So what's the issue? Oddly enough, the issue is a little thing called the Cloak of the Manta Ray. This cloak comes with a hood that you can use an action to put up. Not only does it give you the ability to breathe underwater, it grants you a swim speed of 60 feet, roughly 4 times faster than the standard swim speed of most characters. Oh, and this item has the same level of rarity as the Cap of the Water Breathing. The poor Cap of Water Breathing is effortlessly outclassed by it's sexier, sleeker counterpart.
