Dungeons And Dragons: 10 Abysmal Magical Items
2. Talisman Of The Sphere
The Talisman of the Sphere may be unlike any other item in the existence of Dungeons and Dragons. It exists solely to provide the players with bonuses in handling the legendary Sphere of Annihilation.
The sphere itself acts as a D&D equivalent to a black hole. A hovering, circular orb of nothingness, the Sphere of Annihilation's only purpose is to consume everything that comes into contact with it, obliterating it entirely.
Now that sounds like an extremely dangerous force, of course. As such, the Talisman is ideal for controlling its devastating potential, giving you a bonus to understanding the nature of it using your character's Intelligence and vastly improving the distance at which you can telepathically move it.
But that's...it. That's all it does, it is literally defined by making a different magic item a little bit more manageable. If a world of incredible magical wonder and power, this little trinket is the equivalent of that little dog in the cartoon that hopped around the large bulldog and wouldn't ever shut up. Inseperable, but useless.
