2. Monk - Way Of The Kensei

Templar Dungeons and Dragons

Monks are known for turning their body’s into living weapons. For a Kensei monk, however, their focus is making their weapons a part of themselves. The Kensei monk can choose a melee and ranged weapon to become their Kensei weapons, which grants a myriad of features, from stronger ranged strikes to armor bonuses while holding the weapon.

Using your monk’s ki at later levels will increase both your attack and damage rolls, on top of using an additional martial arts die to add even more punishment. Eventually, the kensei becomes so good with their weapon they can re-roll misses once per turn, increasing the likelihood of a successful strike.

This class is admittedly a little barebones, but offers flavor unlike any other Monastic Order. If you’re looking for a martial artist who flourishes a blade in a way no other fighter can, walk the Way of the Kensei.
