Dying Light 2: 10 Crucial Things It Must Improve
3. Better Voice Actors
It is admirable that Techland attempted to have Middle Eastern characters inflect an accent to represent their country of origin, but the result was that so many ended up sounding... Australian?
Honestly, better voice actors is not the only solution to his problem. Considering that Dying Light 2 is believed to take place in an Eastern European country, and Techland itself is based in Poland, it shouldn't be too difficult to find some actors that can do whichever accent is chosen some justice. Or, at the very least, completely throwing the accents out, and just remove a small bit of logic from the decapitating zombies game.
Of course, spending a little more money on the main characters would build quite a bit of goodwill. Kyle Crane was supposed to be a compassionate soldier, but often came off as whiny and entitled. Rais, a literal warlord, had some truly unintentionally comical lines, and at one point screams the hero's name like he just finished his transition into Darth Vader (he DID just lose his hand, so it kind of fits?).
What we definitely don't want is some terrible, Metro-esque, accents that detract from the experience instead of adding to the immersion.
