Just Cause 2 is one of the best and most expansive open-world action games from the previous generation of consoles and its developer, Avalanche Studios, is behind the Mad Max reboot. Publisher, Warner Bros. was in full force at E3 this year, showing off the latest games in several franchises from Mortal Kombat and Batman, to the Lord of the Rings and The Witcher. In other words, a diverse "who's who" of highly anticipated upcoming games. The game was first announced last year, to mixed thoughts, so maybe they were refining their approach before releasing any more detailed information. In any case, the reboot of the late 70s IP is essentially a fresh franchise for today's gaming market, as the original film was made for an entirely different audience. Avalanche are designing the game in such a way that it will easily align itself with many of the most popular action games on the market today, demonstrating a strong intersection of genres and styles. Hopefully WB won't wait all the way until E3 2015 to give us more information on their gritty open-world excursion.
