Another year of an Ubisoft E3 press conference, another year without Beyond Good & Evil 2. The original Beyond Good & Evil is still regarded as one of the most beloved cult classics from two console generations ago, but hasn't been entirely forgotten. Just a few years ago, Ubisoft released an HD remaster of the original game, proving that they know the franchise exists, but not giving the world any concrete proof that they endeavour to finish the sequel any time soon. Since the game was first teased so long ago in 2008 at an Ubisoft event, the industry has heard little more than a whimper of life from the project. The people in charge maintain that the franchise is not abandoned, but their focuses as of late seem to imply otherwise. Instead of dropping a bomb like a new BG&E2 trailer, or at least confirming its development, we were instead treated to more Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. While certain games like Valiant Hearts and Rainbow Six were nice surprises, it's hard to mask the disappointment that results from BG&E's continued absence.
