E3: 10 Games We're Devastated Weren't Shown

8. New Metroid

Nintendo is absolutely stacked with so many amazing exclusive properties, it can be easy to overlook some of them. While the short Star Fox teaser at the end of their Nintendo Direct was appreciated and the new Zelda footage looks mind-blowing, the entire world released a collective sigh when the bounty hunter, Samus Aran, was no where to be seen. In fact, a proper first-person Metroid game hasn't been released since 2007's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (it would be best if 2010's Metroid: Other M was just completely forgotten.) Going even farther back to the last 2D Metroid game puts us at a decade ago, in 2004, with the release of the heavily enhanced GBA remake of the original Metroid. The Big N has clearly not forgotten about Samus, as she has not failed to appear prominently in each of the past two Super Smash Bros. games, and is even featured in two different character forms in the upcoming game for Wii U and 3DS. It's hard to say whether anything is in the works, but no one should expect any news before E3 2015 at the absolute earliest.
