12. Mortal Kombat X

saw a glimpse of Mortal Kombat X, but what was presented was clearly not actual gameplay, but a CG approximation of what to expect, so the footage showcased at Sony's conference was a welcome surprise. It's a brutal, delightfully violent display of physical punishment that shows exactly what we all love about Mortal Kombat, along with bringing back the bone-crunching damage close-ups that were introduced in MK9. You can almost feel the pain as these warriors lay down serious blows and cringe-inducing combos, a clear indication that Mortal Kombat X will put on some of the most intensely violent fights the series (and most klikely gaming overall) has ever seen. There's a lot of weight to the punches, the feeling of very pure impact that no other fighting game has yet to achieve, adding a lot of raw fun to the on-screen action. The fatalities look as hardcore as ever, along with some fantastic environmental combat that looks to add a lot more depth to the bloody festivities. The MK franchise is a mainstay in gaming, one that will always be here to entertain us, and it was great to see it get showcased with such respect at E3 this year.
