7. FIFA 14 and Madden 14
There is a very specific reason for having both FIFA and Madden on the list, but both are for the same reason. When getting hands on with a new generation of consoles, it is good to see a 'simulator' like a sports game or a driving game because we get to see what the tech can do when it isn't just worried about a flattering art style. Not to say that FIFA and Madden don't have their own art direction, but it is a first glimpse into what a console can do when trying to be as photo real as possible. While the first instalment the generation isn't usually a full representation at what later games will look like (Just go back and look at FIFA 07), they are our first taste of a console's graphical power. Also worth noting is that it will be interesting to see what has been stripped out of the experience. I remember Madden had an incredibly robust Franchise mode on the Playstation 2, and then in the next year, the Xbox 360 version was a barebones product taking a few years to really hit its stride again. It will be great to see what is there and what isn't when I get hands on with the game.
