Back at the end of January, a Microsoft employee calling himself ntkrnl began leaking details about upcoming games and possible console changes on NeoGAF. While we covered some of the rumours and assessed their possible validity, events since then have all but completely validated these leaks. He was correct when it came to Sunset Overdrive, the Xbox Ones price cut through a hardware change (although not the hardware that was cut), Halo 5 coming out in 2015, and that there would be a Halo game collection for Xbox One. So its safe to say some of his leaks for E3 might also be right on the money. Why is this random leaker so important? Because for several months, ntkrnl was literally the only hope that things would get better for Xbox One owners. After a weak launch slate and constant reports that the console couldnt match the PS4s resolution and frame rates, it looked dead just a few months into the generation. But thanks to ntkrnl everyone is anticipating Microsofts E3 press conference, whether its because they want to see the other games he leaked, or to see if he was full of hot air and propped up with a few legitimate bits of information.
