E3 2015: 12 Biggest Moments From Sony's PlayStation Conference
2. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL46dpNEPPA Following the only technical hurdle of the night when the demo loaded only for Drake to be stuck standing still, a reboot got things underway for Naughty Dog; one of the most gifted developers in the business. Being a live demo it was being controlled by script-whizz Bruce Straley, co-writer on the game alongside Neil Druckmann - although thanks to the hiccups at the beginning he didn't get any time to talk to the audience after the playable segment was complete, ending the conference on a bit of a flat note. Still, it's a more refined Uncharted. We got to see what Sully looks like in the new graphics engine (very old) alongside some new gameplay animations for in battle (a flying punch launched from any jump), but more memorable was a full-on controllable car chase that saw Drake and Sully barrel down a series off embankments as they hurtled after Nate's brother, Sam. We all know how these segments go in third-person action titles (try with in-built tension, miss a prompt or direction then fail, rinse-repeat), so unless Naughty Dog are changing things up so avoid instant fail-states, it could derail these sections altogether - especially if there are more of them. Whatever happens it's a new Uncharted, and even though you won't get hands-on until 2016, what we saw to close the show was very robust and enjoyable to watch.
