E3 2015: 12 Biggest Moments From Sony's PlayStation Conference
7. Horizon: Zero Dawn - The First Non-Killzone Title From Guerilla Games
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkg5UVTsKCE It was about time the obviously talented team behind Killzone finally got to ply their trade on something that wasn't another grey trudge through identikit locales and bad animation. Enter Horizon, easily one of the most original-looking games of the entire show so far; touting Monster Hunter-style combat in a far more palatable way as you take down hulking beasts of all shapes and sizes in a post-apocalyptic landscape. The twist? They're all robots. See, at some point the world was eradicated and humans had to rebuild, whereby they found some sentient AI program had done the same, replacing the previous wildlife of the world with hulking mechanical foes wandering the plains. The demo showed a new heroine decked out in the skins of other creatures attempting to salvage parts from wandering machines, before taking on a giant 'T-Rex'-style boss - the whole thing making for one hell of a spectacle as the visuals and theme alone are so unique. Here's to more of this being shown sooner rather than later - it was one of the few new titles released that showed genuine promise.
