E3 2016: 10 Outrageous Rumours We Hope Come True
2. Sony's Mysterious Western Title
In April, a set of concept art images for an unnamed wild west-set game - copyrighted by Sony Computer Entertainment - were discovered on the private website of the artist responsible. Much of the talk at the time suggested that this was old art for an abandoned project, but a few are still hoping that this game might still find life.
In the void currently left by the Red Dead Redemption sequel's current invisibility, a new Western game would likely be very well received. And if the images of Sony's concept are anything to go by, it looks as though this one could be huge and bombastic enough to even give Rockstar's established series a run for its money.
More intriguing still, however, are the suggestions that this title would be a VR experience. The image above shows what appears to be a first-person perspective, as what we can assume is the game's player faces off against a band of attackers inside the carriages of a lavish train. If Sony were to unveil this as a live project and confirm that it'll make use of the burgeoning VR technology, then they could be onto one of the most exciting announcements at this year's conference.
