Dino Crisis may not have the same level of fame as Capcoms more successful survival horror franchise Resident Evil, but at the time of the originals release it managed to stand toe-to-toe with its peers. Despite selling well, there have only been two sequels, the more action heavy Dino Crisis 2, and Dino Crisis 3 - the less said about the latter, the better.

Its not fair that the Dino Crisis franchise has vanished into near oblivion. There are so few dinosaur games, and Dino Crisis was practically the only one that made a survival horror game out of them. Unfortunately the series quickly changed directions until it was unrecognizable, and it died as a result. But it doesnt have to stay this way, and there are many who feel the same way.

A new and complete rejuvenation of the Dino Crisis franchise would be incredibly exciting, not only because survival horror is a dying breed within the AAA space, but because, again, it features dinosaurs, the most underrepresented enemy in all of gaming, which is bizarre because dinosaurs are awesome. Its been so long since this franchise meant anything that nobody would expect this series to bounce back, and its precisely this kind of surprise that gamers desire right now, even if they dont quite know it.
