E3 2016: 10 Returning Video Game Franchises You Woudn't See Coming
8. Conker's Bad Fur Day
Conkers Bad Fur Day is infamous for its merging of a cutesy art style with puerile humor. It stirred a bit of controversy back when it was released in 2001, though most gamers were too busy laughing to care, and it was warmly received for its technological accomplishments, voice acting, and variety of gameplay. The fact that it was so silly that you couldnt help but laugh was the icing on the cake.
It is strange then that there has yet to be another Conker game since. Sure, there was Conker: Live and Reloaded, but that was merely a next-gen remake. Despite all this time there still hasnt been a full fledged sequel, and many would agree that this is kind of a shame. So many games get sequels that dont deserve it while Conker continues to sit on the sidelines.
The good thing is, theres no reason why Conker cant get that sequel 15 years after the fact, and should Rare ever decide to finally commit to making this long overdue game, it will be a sucker punch of happiness. Many gamers look back on Bad Fur Day fondly, and the prospect of jumping back into that gloriously juvenile world after being away for so long would be quite the nostalgia trip. Whether you love him or hate him, the return of Conker would surely make headlines for this simple fact alone.
