E3 2016: 10 Things We Learned From Titanfall 2's Single Player Trailer

3. Jack Cooper Is The Story's Primary Protagonist

The other half to BT, Jack Cooper is the game's main hero. We know next to nothing about him other than the fact he shoots things, pilots a mech and gets himself into all sorts of precarious situations, but that's pretty typical of your average FPS protagonist.

What is interesting is that, well, he's a rebel? He, err, he pilots things?

I have to admit that there wasn't much to go off in the trailer, apart from the fact he has a facial hair and at one point in the trailer he gets rescued by his trusty robot. At least we can all take solace in the fact that the protagonist won't be yet another faceless and voiceless blank slate that players are meant to be invested in.

It's a step up, that's for sure, but whether or not Cooper becomes one of the more fondly remembered FPS heroes remains to be seen, and a conclusion that can only be considered once players have played through Titanfall 2 in its entirety.

If you're worried about any narrative woes though, just remember that you can swing around and jump in cool Sci-Fi parkour style. That in itself is pretty impressive, but it'd be even better if we had a compelling hero to match.
