E3 2016: 9 Things To Expect From Spider-Man On PS4

7. Activision Are Gone For Good

Spider-Man Homecoming Game

In case you're wondering why people are assuming this Spidey game will be a PS4 exclusive, now would be a good time to know that Activision are no longer involved.

This means a pretty big departure from previous Marvel games is likely on the horizon, as the company's decades long ownership of Marvel's videogame properties diminished at the start of 2014. With Sony Pictures being the main owners of the Spider-Man brand onscreen, it isn't too disingenuous to assume that their main console will be getting top priority.

A truly wonderful game featuring the webbed wall-crawler could end up being a system seller in its own right, and while it is a shame that Spidey's exclusivity would only end up alienating his biggest fans trapped in other console systems, it may just be what's best for the character. After all, Activision hadn't really done anything amazing with Marvel's characters since 2006's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and if any company knows a thing or two about good exclusives, it would be Sony.
